Prosthetics

Loss of permanent teeth is not always an age-related problem. Tooth replacement or even a full denture may be needed at any age, for example, when teeth are lost due to a previous illness or a serious accident.

Modern dental prosthesis technologies allow painless and quick replacement of extracted or lost teeth, restoring the functions of the masticatory system. And modern dentures are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth, which is why contemporary prosthodontics is a true art of creating dazzling, beautiful smiles.

Types of dental prostheses

  • Prosthesis of upper front teeth. In this case, the important thing is the cosmetic effect, as this is the smile area that others can see. We use the finest materials from the world’s leading manufacturers, new high-precision digital technologies for modelling and manufacturing dentures, and offer several options for aesthetic, functional replacement of lost front teeth.
  • Prosthesis of masticatory teeth. This group is stressed the most, so the main goal of the dental specialist is to restore functionality (the ability to chew) with strong, reliable and aesthetic prostheses.
  • Fitting of dentures on the lower jaw, including cases of lack of support, bone atrophy.
  • Prosthesis in case of complete tooth loss, partial adentia, replacement of one tooth.

Modern dentures: types and indications for fitting

Dental prosthetics involves many methods. At our clinic, the prosthodontist will make a diagnosis and select the best option for restoring the teeth, taking into account the diagnosis and individual indications for the patient. It can be a removable or a fixed prosthesis.

Fixed prosthesis

Currently for replacing one or two teeth. Dental prostheses that do not need to be removed during use (microprostheses, implant-supported prostheses) are used.

Indications for fitting:

  • severe damage due to dental caries;
  • minor bite defects;
  • wrong shape;
  • wedge-shaped defect;
  • mechanical damage (cracks and chips);
  • gap between the teeth.

Removable prosthesis

Removable prostheses are indicated in complete or significant tooth loss when the conditions for implant-supported prostheses are not suitable:
poor condition of the remaining teeth (they cannot be used as a support for fitting a fixed prosthesis);

  • Unilateral adentia (absence of the entire masticatory group on one side of the jaw);
  • Complete absence of teeth;
  • Periodontal tissue disease.
