The main reason for tooth extraction is neglected caries, which leads to inflammation of the internal tooth tissues – pulpitis and subsequently to periodontitis (inflammatory processes in the ligaments that hold the tooth in place). If tooth treatment is deemed ineffective, the tooth is removed using local anaesthesia. The procedure is completely painless and takes no longer than 20 minutes.

Our clinic practices a conservative procedure – root-end resection. This is a partial removal of the root affected by the infection. This preserves the healthy part of the tooth, which is then restored after the surgery, regaining its functionality and appearance.

In addition, the surgeon’s scope of activity includes such procedures as cutting the frenulum of the tongue (plastic surgery of the labial frenulum) or sinus lift. A short frenulum is a cause of speech impairment because it limits the tongue’s mobility, and an incision or plastic surgery can resolve speech problems in childhood. Sinus lift is an increase in the volume of atrophied bone that is necessary for successful prosthesis treatment.
